Where the growth came from

Jakafi, still the largest product, grew slowly. Net sales were $827 million, up 4%. Incyte tied this mainly to a 12% rise in paid demand.

The faster growth came from elsewhere. Opzelura cream sold $255 million, up 36%, on higher patient demand in atopic dermatitis and vitiligo and better net pricing after the line extension settlement in the second quarter. Hematology and Oncology net sales were $235 million, up 38%, driven by demand for Niktimvo, Zynyz and Monjuvi/Minjuvi.

Incyte raised its Opzelura range to $1.1 billion to $1.12 billion from $1.05 billion to $1.1 billion. Hematology and Oncology moved to $890 million to $910 million from $860 million to $890 million. The Jakafi range stays at $3.22 billion to $3.27 billion.

What the Vega deal did to the quarter

Incyte completed its acquisition of Vega Therapeutics, Inc. in July, buying all shares for $1.25 billion. Star Therapeutics, LLC can receive up to $750 million more if sales milestones are met. The deal added latarcibart, a Phase 3 antibody for von Willebrand disease.

Incyte booked a one-time $1.23 billion in-process R&D expense for the deal in the third quarter. GAAP R&D expenses reached $1.79 billion, up 254%. Without the Vega charge, they rose 11%.

GAAP operating results swung to a loss of $708.4 million from income of $443.5 million a year earlier. The GAAP net loss was $784.8 million, or $3.86 per basic share, against net income of $424.2 million, or $2.17, in the third quarter of 2025. Excluding the Vega charge, Incyte said GAAP operating income rose 18%.

Why it matters

OptimistFi has argued that Incyte works only if newer products and a cash-funded pipeline reduce dependence on Jakafi. This report supports that view. By OptimistFi's calculation, Jakafi made up 62.8% of total net sales in the third quarter, down from 68.8% a year earlier, a drop of 6.0 percentage points. Cash and marketable securities of $3.9 billion, up from $3.6 billion at Dec. 31, 2025, remain available to fund development.

Some items limit the picture. The Vega charge turned reported operating results negative, so the 14% growth does not by itself show better profitability. The full-year Opzelura range also includes a one-time $246 million benefit from Incyte's agreement with the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to resolve Medicaid rebate litigation. It is not a pure demand number.

Jakafi remains most of sales. In August, Incyte agreed to let state Medicaid programs buy Jakafi at prices aligned with those in a defined group of other industrialized nations. The company expects it will not face certain future CMS pricing mandates, including the proposed GUARD and GLOBE models.

What's next

The fourth quarter carries the next tests. Phase 3 data are expected by year-end for povorcitinib in prurigo nodularis, along with topline results for ruxolitinib cream in hidradenitis suppurativa. A European Commission decision on povorcitinib in hidradenitis suppurativa is also expected in the fourth quarter.

Incyte expects a possible U.S. approval and launch for povorcitinib in that condition in the first quarter of 2027. It expects the same for Monjuvi in newly diagnosed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Positive readouts and approvals would add products beyond Jakafi and Opzelura. A miss would leave growth resting on the current portfolio.
