Keith McCullough’s GRAL call meets insider sales (GRAL)

What happened

Keith McCullough (@KeithMcCullough) posted on X on October 9, 2026. Four days earlier, two GRAIL insiders sold shares, cutting against his line. Andrew John Partridge sold 7,873 GRAL shares at $146.39 each, and Aaron Freidin sold 23,619 shares at $146.39 each.

Partridge is GRAIL's Chief Growth Officer, and his open-market sale totaled about $1.15 million in a Form 4 filed with the SEC. The filing does not mark the sale as made under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan set up in advance. Freidin is GRAIL's Chief Financial Officer, and his open-market sale totaled about $3.46 million in a Form 4 filed with the SEC.

"Bought this $GRAL during that Healthcare correction certain types were whining about for a week". GRAIL closed at $140.58 on October 9, 2026, versus $154.08 on October 5, 2026, a change of -8.8%.

Why it matters

The sales cut against the post because they were open-market sales filed four days earlier, and neither Form 4 marks a Rule 10b5-1 plan. GRAIL closed at $140.58 on October 9, 2026, 88% of the way from its 52-week low of $43.03 to its high of $154.08.

The sharper point on the other side is that a Form 4 gives no reason for an insider sale. The company case still rests on Galleri becoming the regulated, reimbursed standard for multi-cancer early detection, while 2025 revenue was $147.17 million, net margin was -277.5%, and revenue grew 17.2% on the year before.

OptimistFi's engine flagged the October 5, 2026 filing because 3 insiders sold $11.23 million within 30 days. Across 8,204 past cases at 1,754 companies, the median stock beat comparable companies by 0.6 percentage points over the next six months. That history is a record of past cases, not a forecast.

What's next

The next known event is earnings expected around October 26, 2026. If that filing round brings fresh insider trades or a new Form 4 window, the October 5 sales can be checked against it by date and size as well.

If the earnings release also updates the path for reimbursement or approval, that would further settle whether the stock's case still rests on the Galleri story for holders. Until then, the call stands against a week-old sale record, not a fresh filing.
