Why it matters

OptimistFi's case is that Dover works when its niche industrial franchises keep turning specialized equipment, consumables, aftermarket, software and services into pricing power and recurring earnings. This filing supports that view because higher revenue came with faster growth in earnings and EPS, not just more volume. Dover also said organic revenue increased 7% in the quarter and pointed to broad-based performance across the portfolio.

Management highlighted artificial intelligence, power generation infrastructure, energy transition, single-use biopharma, semiconductor manufacturing and space launch as growth markets. The nine-month period backs up the quarter, with revenue up 8% and adjusted diluted EPS up 11%. Quarterly revenue rose $156 million from $2.08 billion a year earlier. Bookings outpacing shipments also suggests the order book is still feeding future periods.

The adjusted results exclude after-tax purchase accounting expenses, restructuring and other costs, and a gain on dispositions. Dover also said it opportunistically repurchased over $330 million of shares during the quarter. Its balance sheet and liquidity give it flexibility for more capital deployment.

What's next

Dover will host a webcast and conference call at 9:30 A.M. Eastern Time on Thursday, October 22, 2026. Management said 2026 GAAP EPS is expected to be $8.93 to $9.08, with adjusted EPS of $10.60 to $10.75. That outlook is based on revenue growth of 7% to 8% and organic growth of 5% to 6%. The company also said a significant portion of backlog is scheduled for delivery in 2027.

Holding the guidance range and backlog timing would support the case. Any reset in the outlook would weaken it.
